David is a Registered Landscape Architect and is Director of Newcastle based Moir Landscape Architecture Pty Ltd (MLA). Since its inception in 2001 MLA has undertaken over 1300 projects throughout Australia, China and the Middle East. Being a regional practice the range and scale of work undertaken by MLA is diverse with a mix of “bread and butter” and more challenging and exciting “high profile” projects. Over the past 15 years MLA has seen the good and not so good times and continues to evolve in response to changing demands, markets and technology.

Currently with a team of 9 Landscape Architects MLA is one of the largest independent regional Landscape Architecture firms in Australia with a range of public domain, infrastructure and private development projects within its portfolio.

Notable projects by MLA include the master planning and Stages 1 and 2 of the Lake Macquarie Variety Playground at Speers Point, Merewether Baths Rejuvenation, Merewether Surf Club Public Domain, North Sydney Education Precinct and Master Plans for regional centres including Wyong, Wellington, Nyngan, Narromine, Long Jetty and the Macquarie River Regional Park at Dubbo.

David believes in taking time for good design, a good work life balance and trying not to work too hard.
