Verdant Towers

Verdant Tower combines vertical farming and social micro housing as a prototype and acts as a model for sustainable urban living and working. It responds to global issues such as increasing population, urbanisation and food shortage. In the future, we have to rethink what purpose residential buildings should serve (e.g. topographically, technologically, materially, socially and culturally). The proposed design is intended to act as a multi-rise, mixed-use micro house in a more densely populated future Carrington (2030+ and beyond).

This project challenges expectations about how much private indoor space is necessary and investigates the notional blurring between living/working, indoor/outdoor and individual/communal spaces.
